Sojourner Truth, a former
slave who lived in Florence, MA in the Mid-1800's, was a nationally known
advocate for equality and justice. A group of citizens from many walks of
life, have come together to create a memorial statue and site honoring
her life and work.

The following pages describe the origin of
the project, its mission, the fundraising effort for the statue, artist
selection update, and related links. Enjoy and carry it on!
Each year the committee presents "social justice" awards to high school students and is developing curriculum materials for schools at all levels. Can you help with a donation?
