Slavery in the Connecticut Valley -- Talks and Walking Tours of Slavery Sites
Bob Romer frequently gives talks to various groups (at no charge!) about slavery in the valley in colonial times. Also occasional free walking tours of slavery sites in Old Deerfield.
Some information on my work is on my website: www.amherst.edu/~rhromer
The following talks and walks are past. I'll post a note here when others are planned.
Talk on "Slavery in the Connecticut Valley"
Thursay, March 13, 2008 7:30 P.M.
Hatfield Historical Society
I'll be giving a walking tour of Deerfield sites on Thursday, August 16, 2007. Meet in front of the Deerfield Inn, on the main street of "Old Deerfield", at 9:00 A.M. In case of light rain or threats of rain, come anyway; in case of heavy rain, come the next day, Friday, same time and place. Bring your questions.
I will supply my special maps, showing sites where enslaved African-Americans lived in 1752.
