Sojourner Truth Play

Sojourner's Truth As part of the Sojourner Truth Committee’s      commitment to introducing Sojourner’s powerful story and vision into school curriculums, the committee in 2009-10  collaborated with Enchanted Circle Theater to produce a play about Sojourner’s life.
On April 1, 2010 “Sojourner’s Truth: I will shake every place I go to”  was premiered in Northampton to an audience of 700 people.  It has played to 8 different school districts since then and will be  available to  schools and groups.

 

TRUTH  OPERA

A new folk opera based on Sojourner Truth’s life will be performed in Northampton at the Academy of Music Feb. 16-18.  Don’t miss it!  For more information go to: truthopera.com

 

SEPTEMBER, 2011

In September 2011, the Committee had a Jubilee fundraiser to benefit the high school scholarship fund.   The  program featured:  Storyteller Onawumi Jean Moss, and Charles Neville.  This event was very successful, raising more than $3000 for scholarships.
