Annual Celebration and Commemoration

Each year on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, the Sojourner Truth committee holds a celebration at the park on Pine and Park St, Florence. This event commemorates Sojourner’s life and work by celebrating local people and events involving peace, justice and equality. There is music, dance, speakers and the awarding of $500 scholarships to high school seniors to help them further their education.
